    Itibari Khan, a noble during the rule of Jahangir, built this mosque for Khwajah Kafur in 1605 A.D. Itibari Khan Khawajasara was an important noble and nazir (superintendent) of Jahangir’s harem. Khwajah Kafur was a Sufi saint. 

    According to the ASI, there are two narratives about the horse. One is that the horse statue is monument of Kafur’s pet horse. Second one says that the horse belonged to Akbar.
